After the delayed delivery of HSC hall tickets, it seems the SSC students will have to face the same issue. Over 17 lakh SSC students will get their hall tickets just days before their first paper. Now the students fear that similar to an earlier goof-up, they might be delivered erroneous hall tickets. The first paper is scheduled for March 3.
Meanwhile, blaming some technical glitch, the state board authorities assured the principals that the process was underway and hall tickets will be delivered at the earliest possible. State board secretary Krishnarao Patil said all hall tickets would hopefully be distributed by February 25. "This is the first year that the students have filled an OMR form and so there have been some issues with the server. We are working round-the-clock to ensure that the hall tickets reach students as soon as possible," said Patil.
Every year, hall tickets arrive well before the practical exams. This year, however, practical exams started a week ago. "Our school authorities have told us that we will get the hall tickets tentatively on February 28. I'm just worried about errors or changes the board might make," said a student of IES Modern High School.
Parents, however, seemed relaxed after state board assured them that if the hall tickets have any minor error, the principals will have the authority to rectify them. Sunita Godbole, a parent, said, "Principals are cooperating with us.
They have told us that in case of errors in the hall tickets, they can sort it out and inform the board. But I hope the board compensates for the delay by issuing error-free hall tickets."
The state board helpline has been getting frequent calls from anxious students enquiring about the hall tickets. "Nearly 20 per cent of the calls have been about the hall tickets. Parents are worried that the board might be making changes in the exam schedule. But this is not the case," said one of the counsellors.
